We went out to my co-worker's place, which I will refer to as Mashburn's farm from now on.  Temperature was 66 deg, very slight wind, overcast with high thin stratus clouds.  I laid 3 tracks all at the same time (scuffing 6 and walking 3 with food drop on 2nd step) and then ran them consecutively.

 Track #1

The arrow is pointing to my end flag.  Vivi started off well, but then became interested in the fence.  The horses were out when we drove up so she saw them, but when we were running the track they were out in the fenced field and not near this fence.  I waited her out and she eventually came back to the track and we finished it.  She stopped to get hot dogs from the glove and I also gave her some of the baby food after she lied down on command.

Track #2

The arrow is pointing to my end flag which is just over a little knoll.  My line-up was the top of that mound of dirt and the utility pole.  As I was laying this track, about half-way through I startled a rabbit and he took off to the right.  I was curious as to if Vivi would pick up his scent and I think she did.  When we got to that area, she started going to the right but her head was up (maybe air scenting the rabbit?).  I waited until she got back on track before moving forward.  She did stop at the glove because of the hot dogs in it and she lied down on command.

Track #3

Started off well and, then about half-way through the track, a beautiful, big buck ran from the front of the house into the woods behind us (so the opposite direction we were going).  Vivi, of course, wanted to run after him, but fortunately I had a good grip on the lead. Now I had a dog that wanted to face the opposite direction of the track.  I shortened her leash and tried to wait her out.  I spotted one of my hot dog drops just a couple steps in front of me so I pointed to the drop to get her interested in the track which did get her back to tracking.  From there, we finished the track with her tracking about 5 steps, then looking back to where the deer had gone, then back to tracking about 5 steps, then looking back to where the deer had gone, repeat until we finally found the article.  I was glad that was our last track of this session!

On our way driving out, I notice they have some chickens which I know Vivi hasn't noticed yet.  And they actually have 2 horses there (one is Nobbin and the other is Bentley which is their vet's horse).  Both are old and Nobbin is blind in one eye.
